About Anchor89
Hi, I’m Mark — but around the table, I’m Anchor89. ⚓
I’m a lifelong Oregonian, born and raised on the Oregon Coast, and tabletop roleplaying has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
My first taste of the hobby was back in 1980, playing D&D in a school library. Since then, I’ve spent decades both playing and Game Mastering across a wide range of systems and styles. I’ve run and played 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Edition D&D, along with games like Battletech/Mechwarrior, Rifts, GURPS, Rolemaster, Traveller, Paranoia, Alien RPG, and Pathfinder & Starfinder (1st and 2nd Edition) — and plenty more along the way.
These days, my biggest passion is Pathfinder Second Edition. I love its balance of tactical depth, strong character identity, and teamwork-focused play. Whether you’re brand new to tabletop RPGs or a seasoned veteran, I aim to make every session welcoming, engaging, and comfortable.
All of my games are run online using Foundry VTT, which I self-host on dedicated hardware (a Raspberry Pi 4B with 8GB of RAM). Thanks to solid bandwidth and stable uptime, sessions run smoothly and reliably — no scrambling at game time.
…or something like this:
Before becoming a professional Game Master, I worked as a Customer Support Specialist and Network Administrator, so clear communication, preparation, and technical reliability are second nature to me. When players sit down at my table, I want them focused on the story — not the tech.
